The Bubble Poncho

Worked top-down and in the round, the Bubble Poncho harnesses assigned pooling to create a bobble texture and soft, fluid drape. This combination creates a dimensional fabric where color and texture take center stage. 

Built around the thoughtfully embedded roving accents in the Bamboo Bloom Handpaints yarn by Universal Yarn, the design remains surprisingly accessible and meditative, while creating a sophisticated look. 

Level of Difficulty: Advanced beginner

Skills Necessary: working in the round, casting on, increasing, decreasing, knitting, purling, and binding off.

Needles: 6.5mm (US 10.5) circular needles in the following sizes: 30–40 cm (12–16 inches), 60–80 cm (24–32 inches), and 100–120 cm (40–47 inches). Your longest circular needle should be long enough to go around your widest point around your torso.

Accessories: 8 stitch markers, a tape measure, tapestry needle, and blocking mat and pins.
